In 1915, Amédée and Valentin were mobilized. Father and son would serve France proudly and valiantly.

 

Valentin, Cyrille, Amédée Pillon was born on September 23, 1896, in Quiévy, in the Nord department. Particularly gifted in mathematics, which he taught, he was drafted into the 52nd Artillery Regiment as a second-class gunner on April 8, 1915. He fought exemplarily, participating in numerous battles, before being awarded the Croix de Guerre in 1917, promoted to officer cadet on July 24, 1918, and then to reserve second lieutenant in 1919.

The 1920s and 30s followed, a period marked by successive exercises, training courses, and maneuvers. Regimental insignia. In 1933, he was part of the first reserve of the 103rd Heavy Artillery Regiment (RAL), with which he participated in the Battle of France. Captured on June 22, 1940, in Vanémont, in the Vosges Mountains, he was sent to Oflag II D in Gross Born, Pomerania, within days. In August 1941, he benefited from an agreement between the French and German authorities. He was demobilized as a reserve officer and veteran. Valentin Pillon returned to his family and his professional life. He died at the age of 68 on October 29, 1964, in Melun.

Paul ROUGIER est le 4ème en partant de la droite au rang des officiers debout. Les 10 autres Officiers ne sont pas connus.
